Rituals
Build a ritual around attention
Small, repeatable choices can make shared time feel more intentional.
Choose an occasion that already exists
A ritual does not require a new schedule. You could begin with an evening cup of tea, a weekend walk, or time after dinner. Decide together what would make that moment feel more attentive. The activity should suit your real preferences instead of imitating a photograph.
Remove the obligation to make it special
Keep the ritual open to ordinary conversation, quiet, or a change of plan. If it becomes a promise of a particular kind of intimacy, say so and reconsider the expectation together. A welcoming moment leaves each person room to express what they want.
Buy only what has a clear role
You may not need to purchase anything. If you do choose an object or adult wellness product, ask how it serves the shared experience and whether both people welcome it. Check the practical requirements before adding it to your routine. The meaning comes from the attention you give each other, not the number of things involved.
